What are persistent puppy teeth?
Persistent deciduous teeth are baby teeth that don't fall out as the permanent teeth come through. Usually, it's the canines that tend to stay put, but it can happen with other baby teeth too. Around six months of age, all baby teeth should have loosened and the permanent teeth should have emerged. However, it's common for this to take a little longer in smaller breeds. If baby teeth don't fall out properly, this can cause problems and damage the permanent teeth. They can also affect the development of your puppy's bite.
