How much should my cat eat?
The amount of food a cat should be given sometimes needs to be controlled, otherwise there is a risk of the cat becoming overweight. An unneutered or growing cat can sometimes manage to have free access to its food, without becoming overweight, but this is not usually the case with neutered cats.
If you have a cat that easily becomes overweight, you should keep a close eye on the cat's weight and feed it at a level where it does not become overweight. It is important that a cat is not overweight as this can be a risk factor for many different diseases and problems.
We recommend that you follow the information on the food packaging, but also remember that how much a cat needs to eat is individual. Ultimately, the most important thing is that you follow the weight of your cat to know what is the right amount of food, for your particular cat.
