Getting to know your cat
Just like us humans, every cat has its own unique personality. You'll discover this as you get to know your cat better. Cats are often less eager to obey their owners – for example, you can't train a cat to do various tricks or feats with anywhere near the same ease as a dog. Cats are known for being independent, and tend to do things at their own pace, or when there's something in it for them.
A social cat?
For example, if your cat wants to cuddle, it'll come to you when it feels like it, not necessarily when you want it to. Cats often like to retreat after a cuddle and just be on their own for a bit, without interruption. Cats value their personal space, but they might not mind sitting on your lap while you eat breakfast, or even while you're in the bathroom.
Of course, cats can also be incredibly social and want to greet you as soon as you get home – it really depends on the individual cat, their mood that day, and so on. So, take the time to observe and get to know your cat! Some might find cats to be complicated – but honestly, humans can be complicated too.
