The Neva Masquerade's personality

A cuddly, curious, and lively breed, the Neva Masquerade is the masked variant of the Siberian Cat, sharing much of their character and appearance. They thrive in your company and usually get along well with children and other pets. These cats adapt well to indoor or outdoor living, but their natural instinct is to play, hunt, and explore. This means you'll need to keep your Neva Masquerade entertained – think climbing trees and engaging toys. They're also intelligent cats, so you can even teach them tricks!

Neva Masquerade appearance and grooming

Medium-sized and muscular, the Neva Masquerade has a slightly wild look. Like Siberian cats, they mature slowly, reaching full size around 3 years old. The key differences lie in their fur and eye colour: Neva Masquerades have light fur and striking blue eyes. They boast a bushy tail, ear tufts, and thick, long fur with a mane-like ruff. Their coat needs thorough brushing a couple of times a week to prevent tangles and manage shedding. As with Siberian cats, Neva Masquerades are known for rarely causing allergic reactions.

Potential health issues for Neva Masquerades

Neva Masquerades are generally a healthy breed with few inherent health problems. However, like many cat breeds, they can be susceptible to inherited conditions such as the heart condition Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). Kidney diseases like Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) can also occur. A balanced diet can help support kidney health. Due to their striking eye colour, they might also be more prone to eye issues, so be sure to keep their eyes clean.
