Easter egg hunt for your dog
Easter is here! One fun way to include your dog in the celebrations is to organise an Easter egg hunt for them. Think of it as combining learning with fun – your dog gets to practise their searching skills and use their sense of smell, all while getting a tasty reward at the end.
Important: Hold your dog's egg hunt at a different time to the rest of the family's hunt. This is to prevent your dog accidentally finding the wrong eggs and ingesting chocolate or other treats that can be harmful to dogs. Here's how to run the Easter egg hunt:
Step 1.
Fill one or more Easter eggs (choose a size appropriate for your dog) with a few tasty dog treats.
Step 2.
Show the eggs to your dog and let them have a sniff – then hide the eggs either indoors or outdoors (your garden or courtyard is ideal).
Step 3.
Let your dog sniff out the eggs – help them if they need a little guidance. When your dog finds an egg, see if they can retrieve it themselves!
